Madonna is back in tip-top condition just in time for her big performance at Sunday’s Super Bowl after undergoing intense physical therapy to recover from nose and leg injuries.
/> The pop superstar recently revealed she was battling a pulled hamstring and a knock to her nose after an accident with her microphone as she rehearses for one of the biggest shows of her career.
But the 53 year old has been working hard in rehab and insists she is now fighting fit ahead of her 12-minute half-time spectacular in Indianapolis, Indiana, where she will reportedly perform with rappers Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. and pop duo LMFAO.
She says, “My nose is healed. I’m OK. Lots of warm-ups and tapings and ultrasounds. I feel like I’m one of the football players right now with all the physical therapy I had to do. Mind over matter.”

Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation apologized for and reversed course on its decision to cut Planned Parenthood funding, according to reports.
“Our only goal for our granting process is to support women and families in the fight against breast cancer,” Nancy G. Brinker, founder and CEO, said.
“Amending our criteria will ensure that politics has no place in our grant process. We will continue to fund existing grants, including those of Planned Parenthood.”

Brinker, the sister of the late Susan G. Komen, said the organization will “preserve their eligibility to apply for future grants, while maintaining the ability of our affiliates to make funding decisions that meet the needs of their communities.”
The cancer charity initially announced it was pulling funding for the women’s health organization because Planned Parenthood is under investigation by Republican members of Congress for allegedly using federal dollars toward providing abortions.
The Komen Foundation said three days ago that its decision was not political, and in her statement, Brinker maintained that it was not about politics.
“Our original desire was to fulfill our fiduciary duty to our donors by not funding grant applications made by organizations under investigation,” she said.
Brinker said in her statement that the Komen Foundation is amending the criteria of its new policy to make clear that it will only bar funding for organizations under investigation if is “criminal and conclusive in nature and not political.”
Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards said Friday of the Komen Foundation, “I really take them at their word that this controversy is behind us.”

Courtney Love is described as mentally unstable in newly released deposition papers filed by her daughter Frances Bean Cobain, who sought a restraining order in 2009.
Frances Bean, now 19, says Love’s behavior even caused her pets’ death.
Their cat kicked it after getting entangled in Love’s messy piles of “Etsy fabrics, boxes of paperwork, trash and other possessions,” according to the court papers, while the dog swallowed several of Love’s stash of prescription pills.

In order to ensure that no other pets fell victim to Love’s pill-popping habits, Cobain included her dog, Uncle Fester, on the restraining order which was granted.
Among those Love was ordered to avoid contact with include Cobain, Uncle Fester, Cobains’ grandmother and her aunt. The primary reason? Love’s drug use.
“(She) has taken drugs for as long as I can remember,” Cobain said.
“She basically exists now on … Xanax, Adderall, Sonata and Abilify, sugar and cigarettes. She rarely eats … She often falls asleep in bed while smoking.”
“I am constantly worried that she will start a fire (which she has done at least three times to date) that will threaten all of our lives.”
Cobain spoke out about another bizarre incident that occurred several years before, when Love took her to visit Love’s former boyfriend, James Barber.
“She took me in a taxi to his house in the middle of the night, and from outside the house, in her bare feet, she screamed at him, threw rocks at the house, threatening to burn his expletive house down,” Cobain said in the sworn statement.
“His children were inside, but that did not stop my mother.”
Mother and daughter have had a rocky relationship since the restraining order was granted, but Frances Bean Cobain is trying to move on with her life.
She became engaged to Isaiah Silva, the lead singer of The Rambles, in October and the happy pair are looking forward to their upcoming nuptials.
“Getting to spend the rest of my life loving my best friend makes me the luckiest woman in the world,” Cobain wrote on her Facebook at the time.

He is the champion, our friends.
Adam Lambert will join iconic band Queen on tour this summer, both sides announced this week, a development that follows the singer’s 2009 American Idol finale performance with original members Brian May and Roger Taylor; as well as their teaming up again at the MTV European Music Awards in November.

“The intention is to pay tribute to late singer Freddie Mercury and the band by singing some f-cking great songs,” Lambert tells Great Britain’s The Daily Star. “It’s to keep the music alive for the fans and give it an energy that Freddie would have been proud of.”
“That’s impossible,” he said. “The way I’m choosing to view it is that it’s a great honor and one I’m in no way going to shirk.”
Adam and the group will tour in May and stop at Knebworth in England, where Queen played their final gig with Mercury in 1986.

The Internet is abuzz with reports that Eddie Murphy is dead. He is not.
We repeat: Twitter is not a news source. Eddie Murphy is 100% alive.
Sources close to the Tower Heist star have already debunked the hoax, just the latest in a long line of online pranks designed to fake kill a star for some reason.

The frenzy was initially sparked by MediaFetcher (dot) com, then spread like wildfire thanks to Twitter. This site is believed to be responsible for spinning bogus stories about other numerous celebrities they claim are dead but are not.
The Bon Jovi death hoax was a different guy, but Cher, Charlie Sheen, TooShort, The Rock, Kevin Bacon, Luke Perry, Jack Black, Will Smith, Jaden Smith, Tom Green, Tiger Woods, George Clooney and others have fallen victim of late.
All are still alive and kicking. Thank goodness.

died earlier this week.
While Leslie Carter’s cause of death was an apparent overdose of prescription drugs, the 25-year-old’s trouble with depression was a long time in the making.
It stemmed in large part from the fact that “She thought she would become the next famous Carter sibling,” says a source who once managed her brothers.
In Leslie’s case, although signed to DreamWorks Records, stardom eluded her.
Backstreet Boys singer Nick, of course, became very successful, as did younger brother Aaron. Leslie (below, right) felt great pressure to follow in their footsteps.

“She was always extremely happy for her brothers, don’t get me wrong,” says the source, in an interview with People magazine. “But it was tough for her.”
According to sources close to the family, Leslie remained supportive of her brothers. At various family events, she would happily appear alongside them.
When all five siblings signed on for the E! show House of Carters, Leslie was an enthusiastic participant. “She really loved the attention,” says the source.
But according to a police report, Leslie’s stepmother, Ginger, stated that Leslie “had a history of mental illness and was on medication for her depression.”
Life in the Carter family was nearly always chaotic.
The next year, Jane Carter was arrested and charged with battery in an alleged attack on her estranged husband’s then-girlfriend, Ginger Elrod.
In 2005, big brother Nick was arrested for DUI in Southern California.
In 2008, 20-year-old Aaron was charged with marijuana possession.
Leslie, who was married and has a one-year-old daughter, remained close to both brothers, but felt increasingly lost in her own life. Says the source:
“This is a family who has had a lot of problems. At any given time, I didn’t know who was speaking to who, who was in trouble, who was clean.”
Leslie (she was estranged from her husband) was living with her father, Robert, in Buffalo N.Y., as she tried to wean herself off of medication.
Tragically, she couldn’t in time.
Three prescription bottles were found at the scene were she was unresponsive: Olanzapine, used to treat schizophrenia and/or bipolar disorder, the muscle relaxant Cyclobenzaprine, and the anxiety medication Xanax.
Sources close to the Carters say the tragedy has hit the family hard. Just hours after Leslie’s death, Aaron Carter posted on her Facebook page:
“RIP my dearest sister. I love u.”
