In an extensive new Hollywood Reporter article, LOTS and LOTS of new and exciting details about the Hunger Games movie are revealed!
Here are some highlights about the film’s pre-release success so far:
- The Hunger Games trailer received 8 million views in its FIRST 24 hours
- Became the #1 trending topic on Twitter
- Books sales jumped 7.5 million copies after the trailer was released
And here are some more deets/figures/trivia from the film:
- Film’s budget ended up being $78 million after subsidies
- Hailee Steinfeld, Shailene Woodley, and Abigail Breslin were considered for the role of Katniss
- Jennifer Lawrence got paid $500,000 for the role of Katniss + bonuses for the movie’s performance
And more:
- 300+ bears lived in the woods where the film was shot, and they’d regularly come out
- Film is expected to gross at least $150 million domestically
- Slumdog Millionaire writer Simon Beaufoy wrote Hunger Games sequel Catching Fire
Very interesting stuff! Makes us even MORE excited to see the movie, if that’s possible (actually it’s probably not. We’re already SO pumped for this!)

The season four premiere of RuPaul’s Drag Race was Logo’s highest-rated premiere in the network’s history!!
It posted an ASTOUNDING 50% ratings increase over the season three premiere and scored a .6 in the adult demo. Nearly a million viewers watched the fierceness!
Hmm. we wonder if all those Tumblr gifs had something to do with the promotion!! The internet can work wonders for the industry, LOL!

Family Of Hollywood Hills Murder Victim Speaks Out: Murderer Will Meet His Maker!

UGH!! We still can’t believe someone would do this!!
To recap, two women found a severed head while hiking in the Hollywood Hills. It was the head of Hervey Medellin’s, and his other severed remains were found in the Hollywood Hills as well.
Seriously, why did this happen?? Will we ever know?? Will the family ever know??
Their confusion and pain right now is just unfathomable. But Joanna, a “niece” of his is speaking out, and it’s a mix of sorrow and anger!!
She says:
We don’t know what happened. Whoever did has a problem with God, he is going to meet their maker. There is nothing we can do to help Hervey, he is gone. It is now the cops’ job to find out what happened.
I am devastated, I feel robbed.
My uncle is fine, it was his time to go. He is in heaven now with my mom – they are decorating. Whoever did this is not fine, they are screwed,” she warned. “He’s going to get his judgment from God. His karma is screwed. You can’t chop someone up and kill them and think that you are going to be OK.
I just don’t get it, if you have a problem with someone just talk about it, don’t kill them. Don’t chop someone up! Just communicate!! When they catch this man I am going to see him in jail and ask him why he did this.
According to Hervey’s boyfriend, he went on a business trip to Tijuana, Mexico just days before he was found. Could that have anything to do with it?? Theories are growing…
But no matter what happened or why, we feel so bad for the fam!!

New Revenge Stills — From Emily & Daniel’s Engagement Party!

And we’re back to the start!
When Revenge kicked off in September, audiences were shown a chilling scene in which a murder was committed on the beach outside the engagement party of Daniel Grayson and Emily Thorne. We knew so little then of how things would get to that point in the Hamptons and what role each person at that party would play in this murder.
Now, the pilot’s flash-fowards have become the present and soon, we’ll learn the truth: was Daniel really murdered? While these pictures won’t exactly confirm or deny that suspicion, we can see that he’s alive for at least part of the evening! But how will the party end???
BTW, if you’re not watching this show, you are missing out on this generations Dallas. Seriously, it is that soapy and great!

RoboUpdate! MGM Hires New Screenwriter For RoboCop Reboot!

Can’t say we’re entirely surprised to hear this. The guy they previously hired to work on the script was a newcomer, after all!
Back in November, RoboCop reboot director Jose Padilha gave us LOTS of updates on his upcoming RoboMovie, which was originally being written by first-time screenwriter Josh Zetumer.
Now, we’ve learned that Gran Torino writer Nick Schenk has been brought on to work on the screenplay.
We’re not sure if this means that Zetumer was fired or not…but most likely this new guy is just gonna beef up the script, as opposed to give it a page one rewrite.
Regardless, we’re just glad to see that progress is being made on this one! We’ve been following the RoboReboot for a while now, and we’re curious to see how it all plays out after soooooo many years in development hell!
What do U think? Will this new writer make the RoboScript good enough so they can start up pre-production on the movie???

Barbara Hershey’s Coming To Storybrooke! Lands Exciting Once Upon A Time Guest Spot As…

Ah! Time to see if the poisoned apple didn’t fall to far from the tree!
She’s probably known best to all of you for her role in Black Swan, but Barbara Hershey is an icon in her own right. That’s why, we were thrilled to hear that the Academy Award nominee has been asked to guest star on the new hit ABC show Once Upon a Time this season.
She will be playing the role of Regina/the Evil Queen’s mother, Cora — and while we don’t know what kind of woman she’ll actually be, we do know that if her character is well received, there is an offer on the table for her to return to the show next season for a short arc.
Nice! Let’s keep our fingers crossed that her role is juicy enough to entice audiences!

RyRy And ScarJo Selling Their Former El Lay Home!

And it looks like they’re gonna make some profit on it!
Formerly married couple Scarlett Johansson first purchased their 2,835 sq ft El Lay home in Los Feliz for $2.9 million!
Now, the two are selling their old digs, and they’ve put it up on the market for $3.6 million!
Some of the key features of RyRy and ScarJo’s old place include the following:
- Four bedrooms and three bathrooms
- Eco-friendly solar panels
- Floor-to-ceiling windows
- Master suite with private garden and outdoor bath
