Osbourne Sued Over Jewelry Designs

Sharon Osbourne has been sued by bosses of a design company who have accused the rock matriarch of breaching a jewelry deal by pulling out at the last minute.
Lucas chiefs are seeking unspecified damages from the TV personality, alleging she unlawfully backed out of the oral agreement, but a spokesperson for Osbourne insists the lawsuit is without merit.
Osbourne’s representative tells TMZ.com, “Sharon Osbourne did not breach any oral contract with Lucas Design because no agreement existed.
“Sharon is looking to create her own jewelry line and did have discussions with Lucas Design. Unfortunately the designs and pieces submitted were not the quality that was represented or hoped for. Sharon has moved on.”

McCarthy Falls Ill Ahead Of Film Awards

Actress Melissa Mccarthy was forced to pull out of an award ceremony at California’s Santa Barbara International Film Festival on Friday after falling ill.
The Virtuosos Award, recognising the year’s stand-out performers, was also handed out to Rooney Mara for The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Young Adult’s Patton Oswalt, A Better Life actor Demian Bichir, Rise of the Planet of the Apes’ Andy Serkis and The Descendants actress Shailene Woodley.
Festival Director Roger Durling says, “I’m ecstatic about this strong line-up of Virtuosos. They all gave us indelible performances.”
Last year’s winners were Lesley Manville, John Hawkes, Jacki Weaver and Hailee Steinfeld.

Michaels Remembers ‘good Friend’ King

Rocker Bret Michaels has paid tribute to his In God’s Hands director Zalman King, who lost his cancer battle on Friday.
He has now taken to his Twitter.com page to share a photo of himself with King, writing, “Zalman King and I… This photo was taken in Bali while filming In God’s Hands for Sony Pictures.”
Michaels adds, “Zalman King, a great director and more so a good friend… Many condolences to his family.”
King, best known for steamy thrillers including Wild Orchid and 9 1/2 Weeks, was 69 when he died in Los Angeles.

Blair was always a favorite for the role – Sheen recently told news show Access Hollywood Live, “She’s a very special lady and I think as pretty as the day is long and she has never really had the opportunity to do something where she can really shine. Off camera she’s hilarious.”
