High School Senior Banned From Prom For Indecent Romantic Proposal

It’s that time of the year again. Spring is in the air, school is almost out, and prom is almost here.
While most students are picking out their tuxes or dresses, high school senior James Tate is busy making other plans because he’s been banned from his prom!
What kind of heinous act did this young man commit to deserve such a severe punishment?
He asked a girl to be his date!
James and two buddies added a little competitive edge to this year’s date selection process by holding a contest to see who could ask a girl to the annual dance in the most creative way.
Together with his friends, he taped cardboard letters on the entrance of his school, reading:
“Sonali Rodrigues, Will you go to the prom with me? HMU -Tate.”
Awww! Such a romantic gesture!
His friends admit he won the contest, but all three of them paid the ultimate price when they were suspended by Connecticut’s Shelton area school district and BANNED from prom.
Boo!
The school says that they consider the act trespassing since James and company snuck onto the buildings premises late at night to put up the sign.
You know what we consider the school’s punishment? BOGUS! He TAPED signs, which implies they were easily removable, as opposed to spray painting or committing an actual act of vandalism.
So what if he was up past his bedtime and snuck onto school property! It was a positive, romantic, and quite frankly, VERY CREATIVE way of asking someone to be his date on what SHOULD BE a memorable night for the two lovebirds.
We think the school district’s inability to see the positive aspects of this “trespassing” over the minor negative aspects is immature and silly.
Despite his punishment, James is taking it all in stride while maintaining his pride, saying:
“I’m proud of what I did, and I think Sonali liked it. But the one thing is that my friends are in trouble. If had to do it again, I’d do it alone.”
As of right now, 128,604 people on Facebook agree with him! Wow! We wouldn’t regret that decision either, so kudos, James!
We don’t think his prom proposal will be topped anytime soon (especially because Shelton clearly hates originality in their students) and will be talked about for years to come by those in the district.
Somehow, whether it’s Shelton High School’s prom or another, we hope James Tate still gets to experience a senior prom with Sonali.
The Royal Family Helps Sell Magazines

For a while now, many celebrity magazines and even newspapers have seen a decline in the numbers. But the UK’s Royal Family has helped out a bit.
Last week’s issues of Us Weekly and People sold huge numbers. People magazine sold two million single copies and Us sold about 900,000.
And this week, three out of the top six celebrity mags in the US are featuring a photo of the Royals on the cover.
To give readers a break from everything Prince William and Kate related, many of the mags are now focusing on the other family members, like Prince Harry and Pippa Middleton.
Whatever sells!
Simon Cowell Increases His Security

Simon Cowell is increasing security at his Los Angeles mansion after receiving several death threats.
The 51-year-old star maker has installed new gates, a new metal fence, and extra lights outside his multimillion dollar home in Beverly Hills.
Cowell is also beefing up his personal security to help prevent any of the crazies from coming after him.
According to one source:
”Simon is already massive in America and the X Factor is going to be huge. He’ll be even more famous. But with the extra fame and money comes a few concerns about security so he’s beefing it up a bit just in case.”
It never hurts to have extra security!

Facebook Hired Ex-Reporters To Smear Google

Mark Zuckerberg, say it ain’t so!
While we aren’t surprised to see big companies using bullshizz tactics like this, why would Facebook need to?
Yeah, Google is huge and all, but Facebook has the social networking on lock. We don’t see Facebook really being afraid of them, and thus having to resort to this.
Here’s what happened:
The mystery over which tech company hired top PR firm Burson-Marsteller to pitch stories about Google invading people’s privacy has been solved. And it doesn’t look good for Mark Zuckerberg. The Daily Beast’s Dan Lyons uncovered that Burson’s much speculated-over “unnamed client,” who hired the firm to spread a whisper campaign about Google, was none other than Facebook, Google’s biggest competitor for online advertising. After seeing the evidence, Facebook’s spokesman confirmed Lyons’s discovery. Among other tactics, Burson had two former-reporters-turned-PR-flacks, CNBC’s Jim Goldman and politics reporter John Mercurio, push USA Today and other papers to publish op-eds and editorials against Google. (An influential blogger even published his email exchange where Mercurio tried to get him to do the same thing)
Seems completely shady to us, Facebook! But, what can we expect from the company that keeps slipping in changes to privacy settings to further benefit themselves??
Some are guessing that Googles Social Circle is to blame for the fear, a new program that let’s users share personal information like profile pages, and also secondary sources are gathered automatically — which means they’re being repackaged from sites like Facebook directly.
At least Facebook owned up to it when cornered.

We still don’t know who is kicking the bucket next week on Glee, but we do know we’re DYING over Lea Michele’s solo from the episode. It’s the one we’ve been waiting for…and she didn’t disappoint.
A batch of songs have been released from next week’s episode, entitled Funeral, including Princess Lea performing the Barbara Streisand classic ballad My Man from Funny Girl. Truthfully, we think this is one of her best performances yet…still not quite on par with Don’t Rain On My Parade, but we don’t think anything will ever compare to that for us.
Anyway, CLICK THE JUMP and you’ll be transported to a world of pure imagination – literally. One of the numbers performed next week is an ensemble number of Pure Imagination, originated by Gene Wilder in Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory. Sound like a weird choice? Just wait! You have to hear what Chris Colfer does with it. Very pretty. Plus, there is a third track – Amber Riley singing Try A Little Tenderness by Otis Redding. Very cool!

Jesse James should probably just stop talking to the press. Every time he opens his mouth, he manages to make himself look worse.
This time the cheater spoke with Piers Morgan where he talked about his life, his career, and his latest book.
Oh, and he basically called Sandra Bullock a liar!
