Johnny Depp Will Be Rob Marshall’s Thin Man

They’ve done such great work together on the Pirates movies, we’re excited to hear they are collaborating again.
Warner Bros. confirmed this morning that they will be reuniting director Rob Marshall with his swashbuckling superstar, Johnny Depp, for a remake of the 1934 film, The Thin Man. In the flick, Depp will play lead Nick Charles, a private detective married to a wealthy socialite, Nora, who also works along side him solving cases.
A comedy-mystery, eh? That’s sounds rather fun, actually! Johnny is a very funny guy and he really isn’t given enough opportunities to show that!
Someone who is just as excited as us (perhaps more so) that the film is forging ahead is Rob himself. In a statement about the film, he explained:
“John [Deluca, producer] and I are overjoyed at the idea of working with Johnny again, especially on such a classy and classic project. We are also thrilled to be partnering this time with such wonderful producers as Christi Dembroski and Kevin McCormick, and we are looking forward to working with Warner Bros. to create a reinvention of a beloved story.”
Sounds like it’s going to be quite a project – but who will play Nora, we wonder???
She’s got to be a beauty, for sure, but also someone with a lot of wit and charm.

GaGa and social network game developer Zynga, who introduced FarmVille to millions of Facebook users, have partnered on the new game which will launch on May 17.
GagaVille‘s visitors will be treated to the first listen of unreleased songs from Gaga’s album Born This Way, which drops on the 23rd.

Braxtons Get Renewed!

Braxton Family Values has been renewed after only FOUR episodes! That’s awesome!
Not only that, but they’re getting 3 extra episodes for the sophomore season, shooting up from 10 to 13:
In its first four airings, Braxton Family Values has averaged a 0.63 household rating, attracting 350,000 women in the 18-49 demographic, three times WE tv’s average in the Tuesday 9 PM slot. “The show brings a much bigger and younger audience to WE tv,” said the channel’s president and GM Kim Martin.
That means a lot more time for the dramz, that’s for sure! Ha!
Well, we say good! Good for the Braxtons, good for the network! We’re glad it’s working for everyone!

The Cast Of House Says, "It Gets Better" – And Then Gets Renewed For 8th Season

We’re not saying that the two things are related, but being kind to other people sure does put the universe in your corner.

The cast of House is the latest team of celebs to step forward and post a video in support of the “It Gets Better” movement. Check out the video (above) to hear the cast of the hit FOX show offer their advice to young gay teens.
Their video comes on the heels of the happy announcement that the show has been picked up for an eighth – and most likely final – season.
Congrats to the entire team of House for not only getting picked up, but for trying to make a difference in the lives of those who really need something to believe in!

Aronofsky Looks To Team Up With Clooney!

Awesome!
Not only are we hearing that Darren Aronofsky wants to work with the always dapper George Clooney, but that the film itself could be a sci-fi piece!
It’s called Human Nature, and it’s about an man who wakes up from being cryogenically frozen to find that humans are now the pets of a different species. Apparently the script has been around a while — 15 years — but is now gaining momentum with the new interest, plus Akiva Goldsman is looking to produce.
This sounds pretty great, and somewhat eases the disappointment of Darren leaving Wolverine 2.

Al Pacino Joins Cast Of Gotti Flick!

So, Lindsay Lohan is going to star in a movie with Al Pacino. Cross that off the list of things you thought would never happen in a million years!
Gotti: Three Generations has nabbed the best actor possible to step into the role of mobster Neil Dellacroce. Al Pacino, who you might know best as Michael Corleone from The Godfather, will act along side John Travolta as the Gambino crime family underboss who mentors John Gotti Sr. in the “family business.”
We’re impressed! The script must be really tight if Pacino was willing to sign on. Should let ourselves get high hopes for this? Should we let ourselves believe this going to be one for the ages?
Maybe we should wait and see who they get to play John Gotti Jr. first, huh?
