It’s a huge step in the right direction.
Brazil’s high court has ruled to legalize same-sex civil unions, which will give legal rights to gay couples such as alimony and retirement benefits.
As a country with the most Roman Catholics, the Catholic Church fought the measure to prevent a complete legalization of gay marriage.
Marcelo Cerqueira with the gay rights group Grupo Gay da Bahia says:
“This is a historic moment for all Brazilians, not just homosexuals. This judgment will change everything for us in society – and for the better. Gays, lesbians and transsexuals will be recognized as being more human. We’ll be more accepted by having our rights honored.
This ruling will help. The violence comes about because of impunity for those who commit it. When a country judges a case like this in favor of us, it will have an impact across the judicial and law enforcement sectors.”
This is so important for both the gay and Latin community.
Props to Brazil for making a change in the right direction.

The hosts have been chosen for Simon Cowell‘s US version of X Factor.
Nicole Scherzinger and Steve Jones will host the new singing competition reality show, which begins shooting this Sunday in El Lay.
Jones is most well-known for hosting UK’s T4 Music and the BBC’s As Seen on TV.
Inneresting choice. Nicole seems like a right fit. And it looks like Simon really wants to give his fellow Brits a chance at stardom here in the U.S.
We’re interested to see if they Steve and Nicole have chemistry.

We can’t help but be a little wary about this…
After being HOrrifically plagued by cast and crew injuries and a plethora of production problems, Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark took a month off to revamp the troubled production, kicked director Julie Taymor to the curb and pulled in new producers, and apparently, is now ready to debut once again with new music and a revised story!
Check out the latest poster (above)!
And according to a promotional e-mail:
Order your tickets now and be the first to see the brand-new version of Broadway’s musical spectacular–with new music, new scenes and a whole new take on the mind-blowing theatrical adventure. Songwriting superstars Bono & The Edge of U2 have joined forces with a new team of artists to bring this sensation to even greater heights. Be there.
The new previews begin May 12th, with an official opening June 14th.
At least, for now.
All right, guys! You’ve had more than enough time! Let’s either get this right or put a fork in it!

So. Dang. Rad.
Check out the video above for All India Radio called Ripples.
The video took SIX MONTHS to make, as doing “light painting” is a very time consuming process, let alone to animate. It is all shot in camera, in the real world, by very hard working individuals!
Light painting uses long exposure techniques to create art using light.
One of the most uniquely cool things we’ve seen in a long time! Brilliant!
Props to Darcy Prendergast and the creative team over at OH YEAH WOW
What do U think?? So cool, right??

Suuuuuuuuuuuuuure.
Chris Brown‘s mom, Joyce Hawkins, is defending her son, saying that there’s no way he would release a nude photo of himself.
She says:
“Never would he have…Chris’ personality, never would have sent [that].
I guess it was somebody he probably had known for a while that may have been upset with him for a certain reason, maybe he doesn’t talk to them anymore.”
Or maybe he just wanted a distraction from the whole RiRi/GMA dramz. Who know, who knows.
We guess it’s a mom’s duty to defend her son no matter. To each their own!

We knew there would be some friendly competition emerging between these two reality-singing competition television shows.
The Voice‘s Adam Levine was the first to fire a verbal shot when he said on the last episode:
Oooo! Burnnnn! Ha!
Somehow, we doubt that, but it was a low-blow nonetheless!
Randy Jackson has quickly responded to the blow below the belt, saying:
He’s not taking Maroon 5‘s frontman’s comments too seriously though because he knows American Idol started it all, explaining:
However, Randy seems to actually have a legitimate concern for his genre of reality show, as he continued:
Good point! Just wait until X Factor gets in the fight! This could get messy, folks.
Do U think the talent getting rejected on The Voice would be accepted on American Idol?
